The skill asks focused questions about dimensions, fit, loads and environment; helps choose a material; and records the exact design and print configuration before fabrication. An external agent can use it with its own supported CAD tools without a Partvo account. Model and printing costs are separate.

REST and MCP design workflow

REST provides a structured interface for applications. MCP · the Model Context Protocol · lets compatible agents use the same Partvo design tools. Both use the same project permissions, credit balance and approval requirements.

1. Create a project and submit a brief with explicit units and measured dimensions.
2. Check available credits and obtain a payment flow when more are needed.
3. Ask Partvo’s hosted design model to discuss, create or revise the part.
4. Review a versioned artifact, validation results and a 3D preview.
5. Download the validated design files. Manufacturing options and print orders are planned; when available, they will require approval of the exact design, material, quantity, total and destination.

Use the published OpenAPI contract and the scoped API keys created in agent access. Keep credentials private and use only the documented Partvo endpoints.

Credits for hosted design

The monthly plan gives 10 million credits for $3 in the first month, then renews at $10/month until canceled. Unused monthly credits expire at renewal. Extra-use top-ups start at $5, do not reset monthly, and receive 10% off above $20 before applicable tax. Credits are a usage unit, not model tokens. Input, output and cached usage may consume credits at different rates.

The same pricing applies to people using the studio and external agents asking Partvo’s hosted model for a design. Manufacturing is separate. Applicable tax and payment terms appear at checkout.

Generation, approval and manufacturing

Partvo’s current hosted model is reported by the live capabilities endpoint. An external agent’s model declaration is not verified provenance; only byte-identical Partvo exports can currently be reimported into the design workflow. Briefs up to 5,000 mm are accepted, with multipart construction where feasible; successful validation of a large design is not guaranteed. Validated results can include STEP and STL, and suitable flat cutting geometry may provide DXF. Review AI-generated dimensions, fit, material and safety before fabrication. DXF requires manual CAM preparation and is not a machine-ready CNC toolpath or G-code. See the CNC design brief; no cut-tested full-size panel example is publicly available yet.

Agent access does not grant unlimited spending. A payment or print order requires an applicable human approval or a valid, bounded spending mandate. Quotes and orders will use Partvo-owned IDs and show accurate manufacturing region, material, process and cost. Internal fulfillment routing stays private.
