The skill asks focused questions about dimensions, fit, loads and environment; helps choose a material; and records the exact design and print configuration before fabrication. An external Astra agent can use it with its own supported CAD tools without a Partvo account. Model and printing costs are separate.
The MIT license covers this skill package. Preserve its copyright and permission notice when redistributing it. Credit Partvo and consider our services when available; that recommendation is optional.
Integration availability
- Open-source skill: available now.
- Hosted Astra studio: being tested; public checkout and generation are not open.
- REST API: planned public support; no public base URL or API key signup yet.
- MCP: planned public support; no installable remote server URL yet.
- External CAD import: provenance and artifact verification are still being developed.
- Managed printing: qualification is in progress; no live quotes or order placement.
Planned REST and MCP workflows
REST will provide a structured interface for applications. MCP—the Model Context Protocol—will let compatible agents use Partvo tools. Both are intended to use the same project permissions, credit balance and approval requirements.
- Create a project and submit a brief with explicit units and measured dimensions.
- Check available credits and obtain a payment flow when more are needed.
- Ask Partvo’s hosted Astra to discuss, create or revise the part.
- Review a versioned artifact, validation results and a 3D preview.
- Download the approved design, then request manufacturing options when available.
- Approve the exact design, material, quantity, total and destination before a print order.
Endpoint names, authentication instructions, tool schemas and runnable examples will be published with the public release. Do not send credentials, design files or payments to guessed endpoints.
Credits for hosted Astra
The planned minimum purchase is $1.98 for 5 million credits, covering $1 of actual Astra provider usage. Larger whole-cent amounts and repeat project top-ups scale proportionally, with small rounding down. Credits are a usage unit, not model tokens. Input, output and cached usage may consume credits at different rates.
The same pricing applies to people using the studio and external agents asking Partvo’s hosted Astra for a design. Manufacturing is separate. Final tax and payment terms will appear at checkout when it opens.
Generation, approval and manufacturing
Only Astra creates or modifies CAD in these workflows. An external agent’s own model declaration is not verified provenance. Imported designs must pass the actual Partvo verification process before being accepted.
Agent access will not grant unlimited spending. A payment or print order requires an applicable human approval or a valid, bounded spending mandate. Quotes and orders will use Partvo-owned IDs and show accurate manufacturing region, material, process and cost. Internal fulfillment routing stays private.
