AI agents and custom parts: the Partvo workflow

Partvo is building AI-assisted CAD and manufacturing workflows for people, external AI agents and its own assistant. The intended starting point is a simple enclosure, bracket or mounting plate described through a sketch, photo or written brief.
What is available today?
The free MIT-licensed skill is available on GitHub and as a ZIP download. The public site also accepts early-access inquiries by email. Public agent registration, API credentials, CAD generation, supplier quotes and order placement are not available on this website yet.
Three ways to design a part
1. Human + Partvo studio
We are building a chatbot beside an interactive 3D design view. People will answer measurement and material questions, review revisions and use OpenAI Astra through our OpenRouter integration. Hosted design is planned to start at $1.98 for 5 million credits, covering $1 of Astra provider usage. Larger whole-cent purchases and repeat project top-ups will scale proportionally. Credits are not tokens; checkout is not public yet.
2. Your agent + Partvo’s Astra
An agent using another model will be able to prepare the brief and ask Partvo’s Astra agent to create or revise CAD. The planned API will preserve project permissions, budgets and design approvals. This hosted integration is not live yet.
3. Your Astra agent + our free skill
An external Astra agent can use our open-source skill now to ask better questions, select candidate materials and create a part in its own supported tools. No Partvo account or purchase is required to use the skill. Your model or tool provider may charge separately. Partvo’s verified design-import and manufacturing services are still in development.

Astra generation, with honest provenance
These workflows use Astra to create or modify CAD. Partvo-hosted generation and external Astra generation are both intended routes. An agent’s self-declared identity is not verified evidence; our production import path will need to validate provenance and the supplied artifact before accepting it. No alternate-model fallback is planned.
Design approval and spending
- Prepare a brief with explicit units and known dimensions.
- Review a specific design version and resolve critical uncertainties.
- Compare available manufacturing offers for that version.
- Approve the manufacturing option, material, quantity, total cost and delivery details before ordering.
Budget limits and scoped permissions are part of the planned agent controls. Read the developer roadmap for REST and MCP support. Production behavior and the public integration contract will be documented when the service opens.
Will agents compare multiple suppliers?
That is the plan. We are developing comparisons across suppliers in China and the United States. Supplier participation, materials, delivery coverage and API availability still need to be confirmed. There are no live supplier offers or guaranteed prices on this site.
